Este aposento alto no estaba en el templo ("y estaban siempre en el templo, alabando y bendiciendo a Dios. Amén" - Lucas 24: 53), donde los discípulos aún rendían culto a Dios ("Pedro y Juan subían juntos al templo a la hora novena, la de la oración" - Hechos 3: 1), sino en el piso alto de una casa particular, en un lugar privado.
